Quicksand is a colloid hydrogel consisting of fine granular matter (such as sand or silt), clay and water. Someone stepping on it will start to sink. To move within the quicksand, a person or object must apply sufficient pressure on the compacted sand to re-introduce enough water to liquefy it. The forces required to do this are quite large: to remove a foot from quicksand at a speed or .o1 m/s would require the same amount of force as that needed to lift a medium-sized car. The most dangerous thing about quicksand its ability to entrap its victim causing panic and distress.
Basically if you get caught in quicksand your natural reaction is to fight and struggle, But due to the nature of quicksand this will only cause you to sink deeper. The harder you fight the deeper you sink, doesn't that sometimes feel like life?! Ever have one of those days where no matter how hard you try you cannot do anything right?! I call those quicksand days... Quicksand will not kill you. It is imposable to completely sink into quicksand. People that die from quicksand usually die from dehydration, heat stroke, or fatigue.
Point of this blog?! When you are placed in a hard or stressful situation CHILL OUT! You can easily get out of quicksand by relaxing and wiggling your legs.
Less of a blogger, more of a philosopher.
